Abstract

One of the important elements of Catholic journalism is editorial-writing. One of the important aspects of editorial-writing is the evidence contained in an editorial to support the opinions or judgements which it advances to the reader. It is my hope that this study of the evidential content of more than 200 editorials in the Catholic press will indicate to some extent the performance of Catholic editors in meeting this requirement of editorial-writing.
