Abstract

Isaac of Stella is one of many important Cistercian theologians of the twelfth century. He was a contemporary of St. Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153) and William of St. Thierry (1085-1148). But Isaac of Stella remains practically unknown. The primary source of information about the life and thought of Isaac can be found in his Sermons and Letters which have been preserved in several manuscripts and in the Patrologia Latina printed by P. J. Migne. These editions of Isaac's writings are in the original language, Latin.
