Abstract

Commercial banks have long been a highly important source of short-term business funds. The availability of these funds can be very important to a great many companies that may not borrow at all for extended periods. It is especially important in the small business sphere where uncertainties of failure are great, management sophistication is not usually very well developed and the overall need for funds is paramount.
