Abstract

Nikolai Bukharin who was called by Lenin the "greatest" living and most valuable theoretician", once stated that national rivalry between communist states was impossible, and that Communist society would be made up of unselfish and harmonious units... this was not a theory, but "eine spontane realitat"---"a spontaneous fact." How come then, the impossible split of Tito and Stalin, of Yugoslavia and the U.S.S.R.? The reasons for it can be expressed, perhaps, in five main categories, all of which contain a part of the truth, the parts differing in size, all having their share in Tito's rejection of Stalin...
