Abstract
This paper introduces the yield line method of analysis of two-way slabs. Two different approaches are presented: the principle of virtual work and the equations of equilibrium, to calculate the ultimate uniform load that a slab can resist. A computer program was written according to the yield line method. Four examples are to be presented in order to determine the efficiency of using yield line theory.
