Abstract
Modern ideals require that all shall be educated. In the first place this education must be serviceable to the individual from a cultural, social, and practical viewpoint. Today compulsory education is the rule in all civilized countries. But even with this, the school must make an appeal which is sufficiently interesting and worth while to keep the children in school. Among the means to accomplish this end is a better curriculum or course of study. Interest and more effective effort in school may thus be secured. The modern school must take "ail the children of all the people" and do its best for them.
