Abstract
The aim of this survey is to compare the front pages of the Milwaukee Journal, an Independent newspaper, and the Wisconsin News, a Hearst publication, over a given period of time, in this case three months, to secure as near an accurate conclusion, as is possible through this medium, of the essential variations and similarities between the papers, especially in news content, news selection, writing style, and typography.
Acting as show windows for its owners, the front pages exemplify and portray to their readers the policies that each newspaper believes are its most important selling points in regard to the development and improvement of this community.
