Abstract
All mankind, whether the wandering savage, the isolated pioneer, or the dweller in the congested city, requires a constant supply of water for his needs. This fact is attested to in all the civilizations of the past, and if we go back to biblical times, or to the days of ancient Greece and Rome, we read of the famous wells and aqueducts, from which the inhabitants derived their supplies.
