Abstract
The question of divorce is one that is becoming more and more weighty each day. A great number of sound thinking people have realized an evil therein, but have based their conclusions on religious belief, accepting theology as a reason for its illiceity without further question. If they fall from their religion they can see no reason why divorce is not licit, and because of a great modern exodus from the guiding principle of religious code, one is met on all sides by the cry that divorce is licit. It is our purpose to show from a purely reasoned standpoint that divorce is not licit, that, leaving aside the mandates of any theology we are still forced to admit the evils thereof and condemn the practice.
