Abstract
I intended in this thesis to examine the background in international relations and foreign affairs which the five journals of opinion of my choice were furnishing to their subscribers, particularly those newspapermen and editors who read these journals for information with which to provide in turn their own readers and for use in the formulation of their own foreign policy and attitude toward international affairs.
I was particularly curious, in view of what great catastrophe was about to descend upon the world in those days, to determine by an examination of the magazine files, specifically what informational material was being presented by the competent foreign observers and experts contributing to these magazines on the European scene and and general unrest which went before the conflict.
