Abstract
Once, under the yellow skies of this new land, dwelt Indians, buffalo, and freedom loving pioneers. The Indians are now all but ·extinct, yet we have tried to save some of their tribes by instituting reservations. The buffalo, likewise, is all but extinct. Yet, we feel the necessity to preserve them, hence, we set up game reserves. The freedom loving pioneer, who built this country, is likewise extinct. Also absent from our land is his love of freedom and spirit of patriotism. Yet, here we, the people of the United States of America, have not found it necessary to initiate any institutions to preserve these principles which are necessary for our country's safety.
