Abstract
Although much work has been done on the oxidation of saturated fatty acids in the past, relatively little research on hydroxylated acids has been conducted.
This paper is a study of the oxidation of mono and poly hydroxy-fatty acids and was undertaken on the basis of Reid and Hall's report on the nitric acid oxidation of 12-hydroxystearic acid.
