Abstract

In the development of contemporary American life with its Main Streets and Babbitts has come the in vitable passing of the country printer-edit-or who served in every capacity necessitated by his business. Today, such significant changes have occurred in the field of community journalism that instead of the traditional country printer-editor we perceive a new enlightened era in which the community newspaper rises out of lethargy to new importance beside the best of city dailies. Just as the development of American rural life has been something which we might attribute to education it is also plausible for us to credit this feature to the success of the rejuvenated country press.
