Abstract

During the past quarter of a century, while the demand for teaching science in high schools was increasing, there has been a constant experimentation going on. This experimentation was carried on, not only by the heads of the science and educational departments of our colleges and universities, the superintendents, and principals of high schools, but also by the teachers themselves. It has been a question of what to teach in general science and how to teach it so that the pupil would get the best knowledge of the subject and acquire the ability of proper application of this knowledge in practical life.
