Abstract
Thomas Moore started writing at an early age. His parents were extremely interested in their son's education and consequently had sent him to school as soon as possible. At the excellent grammar school which he attended young Thomas was well-versed in the fundamentals of grammar and of writing besides being taught and reminded never to neglect the habit of rhyming. To these practices he was ever afterwards indebted and before his fifteenth birthday two of his lyrical verses were printed in a popular Dublin magazine.
