Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to show that play is a necessary part of a system of education,. It aims to show that the training of play is so fundamental, so necessary, and so educative that the child, as Froebel suggests, cannot grow to the full measure of his manhood without it, and that a deep seated love of play is not something that has to be opposed and suppressed, but rather encouraged and developed.
