Abstract
In this complicated and swift moving life we lead today, sickness and its too oft companion death, play an important and seemingly unavoidable part. Babes in arms, children, the more rapid youth, the middle aged in their established march, and the faltering old; all are the target of the encroachments of sickness and few or none escape it in their lifes journey. These encroachments may range all the way from a slight inconvenience to those ailments which cause death either ultimately or immediately. The list of these diseases known to medical science in their names alone fill a large book. This classification is un¬ necessary for our purpose so we shall make it according to the economic effects to determine the disabling effects of sickness and the prolongation of this disablement. Following is an outline of these norms.
