Abstract
Blood transfusion, within recent years, has become a subject of paramount therapeutic importance. A few years back the technique of blood transfusion was so difficult that there were only a relatively few who possessed the requisite skill to perform the operation and then not always successfully. But since the year 1907 the evolution and perfection of blood transfusion procedures has been so steady and immense that, as a therapeutic measure, it has come into general use in the treatment of various acute and chronic lesions.
