Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to discuss the importance of music in Education and Recreation. In the first chapter is discussed the importance of music in education. The next chapter will present the values and contributions of music, and its place in the curriculum. Chapter III will show the importance of a musical education to children in the public schools. Now we will approach an important element in the child's musical career — the musical training in the home. Finally, this musical training in school and home can be carried over into the field of recreation and leisure.
