Abstract
The field of inorganic paper chromatography is in its infancy at the present time. Numerous papers have been published describing various methods for separation and hypothesis for the mechanism of the separations. Since the number of variables involved in chromatographic separations is so large it is rather difficult to establish any concrete principles. Many phases of the separations and their effects have been investigated but only too often they yield conflicting data. Up to the present time the majority of authors have confined their studies to a particular solvent and grade of filter paper.
