Abstract
Chromium plating or the electrodeposition of chromium from chromic acid baths has been an accomplished fact for almost a century. However, it has not been until the last few years that considerable attributive information has been published to make the mechanism of the process sufficiently understood to permit its commercial operation.1 Most of the scientific information published on chromium plating thus far is general there being very little specific information revealed as yet. Material, as shall be referred to occasionally, may be read about its early successful applications stressing the unusual properties, advantages, interests, and activities but very little information is obtainable concerning the results of extensive investigation and revolutionary progress.
