Abstract
This paper attempts to show the growth of Christian legal philosophy from the pre-Christian Stoic concepts to the highly rationalized concepts of Suarez. The method used was to examine the pre-Christian base. of legal philosophy represented by Cicero. Of the many Christian philosophers who contributed to the growth of Christian legal concepts the following three have been singled out for analysis: St. Augustine, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Francisco Suarez. This paper thus does not claim to be a comprehensive treatise of Christian legal philosophy, but intends only to dwell on some of its formulating principles.
