Abstract
Many newspaper editors consider the newspaper merely as a business concern with news as the product. The newspaper is more than that. It is a sort of public utility and as such must function in the public interest other than getting out the various editions. It must aid in bettering the society that comes within its influence. There are two ways of doing this, internal and external. The internal method consists in the actual publication of both news and advertising. By following a strict ethical policy in its columns the newspaper can be of an infinite benefit to its readers.
