Abstract
Sane Supervision carries with it three sets of principles. "Growing" is the great end - the growing of all together - growth is the essence or good life - to grow is to live. The teacher's business is to help the child to grow. The child influences in turn others to grow. The supervisor works with the teacher to help them to grow as persons in themselves and also specifically in their chosen work. "Professional Study is Necessary". Proper study of available sources will throw light on nature, processes of learning, of method, of subject-matter. If teachers will avail themselves of the foregoing they will grow and be happier - pupils will grow and be happier. The Supervisor should lead and help in professional material. Teachers and supervisors should be pioneers working. together in a Joint social venture. "Democratic Supervision Demands Respect for Personality." Each must respect the other's personality - what it is now and what it may become. There are rights to be accorded to others. The good teacher grants the greatest self-direction to the pupils, so the supervisor will extend self-direction to the teachers -- this extends their personality.
