Abstract
It is my purpose in this thesis to trace briefly the development or the staging of Mediaeval drama in the outstanding continental countries from its beginnings which originated in the sacrifice of Mass in the Catholic Church. The first chapter has been written to show what had been accomplished in the field of dramatic art prior to the Mediaeval period and to show the decline of this early art, then with the revival or the art in the middle ages we see the germ of one of the greatest forms of entertainment the world has ever known.
