Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to show whether or not special editions, and especially anniversary editions of weekly newspapers, are a profitable venture for publishers. This will be gone about by taking each paper and pointing out in it the advertising that was secured merely for this one edition. Besides this the regular advertising that was increased for this issue will be pointed out. With the amount of extra advertising known, conclusions will be drawn as to which of these special editions were profitable and how much advertising is needed to make them so.
