Abstract
A little more than ten years ago, flying was regarded by all but the most daring as an extremely dangerous art and one having no practical value. This condition of thought was to be rapidly changed, for the coming of the World War gave to aviation the impetus that was eventually to make this mode of transportation one of the very great importance in our daily lives.
