Abstract
Within the last ten years there has been a constantly growing demand for soybeans. This demand is a result of the many new uses to which the by-products of the bean have been put. At present there are many varieties of soybeans on the market and each of these varieties have different compositions and hence have different qualities. Chemists are working on these different varieties and are trying to find the variety that is best suited for certain purposes. Wisconsin, which is primarily an agricultural state, will be among the leaders in raising the soybean. The purpose of this investigation is to determine which varieties are best suited to Wisconsin soils, and which of these varieties will be most useful to industry.
