Abstract

Buckminsterfullerene, C₆₀, reacts with Pd-(PPh₃)₄ in solution to give in high yield a palladium(0) complex, (C₆₀)Pd(PPh₃)₂, in which fullerene is ligated in a η2 fashion. The molecular structure of this compound has been established by the X-ray study of a single crystal.
