Abstract
In this interview, Julia Huang, Founder and CEO of California-based InterTrend Communications, talks about the history and development of Asian American advertising and the challenges faced by multicultural agencies. Julia tells the story of founding and developing her own agency, the experience of being an Asian American woman in advertising, and the importance of storytelling in representing identities in advertising. She speaks to opportunities for a more inclusive future and the need for practitioners and academics to come together to have important conversations about how to make advertising more reflective of society's many communities.
