Abstract
On May 11, 2020, a panel of academics and industry leaders came together to discuss the state of equity and inclusion in the advertising industry. In Part II of this roundtable, participants discuss many topics: examples of positive advertising work effectively reflecting and reaching diverse audiences of the 21st century; best practices for producing more diverse and inclusive advertising; how to use advertising to engage all segments of the population and allow people to check their misconceptions about others; how much money and resources go toward diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in advertising; how to get new talent interested in advertising; how to recruit and retain diverse talent; how to encourage talent to be the change that they want to see in advertising; advice for practitioners, professors, and brands on how to achieve a more equitable, inclusive, and diverse world through advertising.
