Abstract
The starting point of all theology, said Bonhoeffer, is the reality of God. The statement is deceptively simple and, in a sense, cliche. But if it is allowed to stay in the mind and in the imagination for a long period of time it begins to develop a life of its own. It makes its own noises, it carves its own space, it draws attention to itself. In short, it wants to be understood.
