Abstract
This essay contains several things that ought to make a contribution to Vico scholarship. After my first chapter, setting forth the plan of the essay, I complete the introduction of the New Science by describing the history of Vice's three ages as a history. In the New Science, Vico himself treats the elements of this history topically. He does not provide a chronological exposition of the "ideal eternal history" and the corresponding "modifications of men's minds." I believe my treatment of this material as a narrative renders it more accessible...
