Abstract
The following study was performed to address one of the most prevalent concerns in the literature base on mindfulness meditation as a stress management technique, the lack of controlled trials testing its utility. A pilot to this study was performed 3 years previous in completion of an annual curriculum project. This project tested and verified the utility of two amended mindfulness techniques for stress reduction. The current study is an extension of that project, adding the elements of a control comparison group and a proposed methodology for the promotion of post-treatment practice and, hopefully, maintenance of benefits.
