Abstract
This dissertation was the result of a number of interests and motivations. It combines my love of theology and ethics with my interest in economics (including facts, figures, numbers, and statistics). It developed out of an insatiable penchant for asking the question why, and a belief that the answer was worth searching for. But it was also born out of a personal desire to investigate further the relationship between economic arrangements and the Kingdom of God.
