Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find the factors in the self-identity of American Indians. The idea for this particular qualitative research project grew out of a love for people of all races and nations. My own multi-cultural experiences coupled with courses helped this study become an enriching experience for me and for those who supported me through the challenges that were inevitable in a project of this length and breadth. To me, it was a time of tremendous growth as I met and became a part of the lives of the people I interviewed. They opened their hearts and shared generously.
