Abstract
This study was undertaken in order to better understand the factors that influence Hmong students' acquisition of English. Many previous research have been done on second language acquisition but not with Hmong students in particular. To that end, a qualitative research design was used in this study to discover the factors that influence Hmong students' acquisition of English. The three broad factors examined in this study were biographical and background, sociocultural, and academic.
