Abstract
Nervous tissue is known to be responsive to extracellular currents, but externally induced alterations in the individual neuron properties are not well defined. Consequently, this work seeks to establish the specific cellular characteristics such as transmembrane polarizations which control the individual neuron's response to applied currents. This information is generally applicable to the evaluations of functional effects of extracellular current flow through nervous tissue.
