Abstract
The dissertation contained two areas of photochemical studies. Solution phase photochemistry of rigid bicyclic systems was studied by reactants synthesizing, intermediates trapping, deuterium labeling and quantum yield determination. Studies of intramolecular charge transfer photochemistry of [pi]-conjugated di- and trisilanes involved the design, syntheses of photochemical reactants and photoproducts, isotope labeling, determinations of quantum yields.
