Abstract
Although he has been dead eighteen years, Wilfrid Scawen Blunt has not been entirely forgotten. Both he and his work are becoming more widely known. In 1938 Miss Edith Finch's romantic life. All the biographical information about Blunt was not then and is not now available, since the subject thereof had decreed by his will that his private memoirs should not be accessible to the public until 1952. Although knowledge of Blunt's life is not yet complete, articles and reviews in American and English periodicals have to some extent acquainted readers with his work. As yet, however, no full study of his writings has appeared. The purpose of the present work shall be, therefore, to introduce, to analyze, and to appraise Blunt's poetic and prose compositions and to show their relation to the life and thought of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
