Abstract
The purpose of this research was to identify behavioral characteristics of the siblings of children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, and thus, build upon the body of knowledge that speaks to siblings as important members of families. A major motivation for undertaking this project was anecdotal information from clinicians and this author's personal experiences - working with families who have a child with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder - all of which supported the notion that siblings played a key role in the life of the child with attentional difficulties and in the functioning of the family. Despite anecdotal information to support this, siblings have been the focus of only a limited number of research projects.
