Abstract
In accordance with Leon's (1977) suggestion that good behavioral predictors be developed to identify potentially successful applicants for weight reduction programs, the present study was conducted for the purpose of attempting to determine what influences a personality variable expressed as internal or external locus of control might exert on the relative efficacy of behavioral and insight therapy programs designed to foster weight loss in forty-four adult female subjects qualifying as obese.
