Abstract

The problem confronting the researcher is whether professionalism can be taught effectively in formal classroom settings. The transmission of professionalism in nursing is of critical importance to the dynamic health care system which requires nurses to possess increasing qualities of accountability, responsibility and autonomy to meet the role expectations of diverse work environments.
