Abstract
Much has been written on the classification of plane quartic curves and cubics, and critical studies have been made of their properties. On the contrary, little appears on the quintic curve, most considerations beyond the quartic being confined to some general properties of the n-ic of degree higher than four, without giving a special investigation of the quintic itself. The present paper proposes to make such a study, namely: to classify projectively the maximum number of plan quintic curves possible according to their singularities, and to exhibit certain of these curves which have been actually constructed.
