Abstract
Miranda Fricker’s theory of testimonial and hermeneutical injustice, rather than a merely abstract theory of analytical philosophy, has the potential to have a direct, positive impact on dispositional development in pre-service teachers. Her proposed remedy to injustices, virtuous hearing, is a virtue/skill which may be one effective way in which university teacher education programs can cultivate socially just dispositions in pre-service teachers. The fact that her remedy is virtue-based should foster its acceptance among those who would deny and decry any method which could be misconstrued as an element of DEI or CRT. The academy will need to follow up with empirical studies if there is interest in more widespread use of this theory.
