Abstract
Today nursing ls passing judgment upon itself. Nurses are asking: What is good nursing? What abilities must a competent nurse possess? How can good nursing care be measured? What tools are valuable in predicting the success of nursing school applicants? Within the past few years, research of this nature has been given impetus by changes in society, medicine, surgery, the sciences and nursing. The findings of these investigations have been reflected in the curricula of nursing schools.
