Abstract

It has been aptly said that "the winds of change spawned by Vatican II and now blowing through the Church are certainly rustling the papers in the classrooms of Catholic Elementary Schools of the United States."1 The effects of those winds have reached us, too, here at St. Catherin e School. The spirit of change that has taken hold of American Education everywhere has caught fire within our own school walls and the ritual word for '68, heard in corridors and faculty lounge, around lunch tables and in classrooms is "innovation." As educators, we are well aware of the fact that a school system without its team-teaching, ungraded classes, personalized instruction, programmed learning and closed circuit TV is simply not with it today. Consequently, CURRICULUM CHANGE has become the topic or the day and it is discussed at every stand-in, level-in and teach-in that is conducted at our parish school.
