Abstract
The purpose of this essay is to introduce a children's television program that addresses gender stereotyping in career education. Chapter I offers an introduction and background of sex equity in education and society as a whole; the purpose, significance, assumptions, and limitations of the essay are provided; terms are defined. The literature is reviewed in Chapter II. Effective curricula and criteria are reviewed in Chapter III. Chapter IV develops a children's television program aimed at sex equity in career education for elementary school children. Chapter V summarizes the essay and provides recommendations with regard to furthering the achievement of sex equity in career education.
