Abstract
Recently much attention has been directed toward developing more successful methods for teaching the environmentally disadvantaged child. One area of prime concern is the inability of many disadvantaged children to adjust to the program of instruction offered in the public schools. Of particular interest to the investigator, is the apparent difficulty of the school's reading program to develop necessary skills and generate real lasting interest in reading.
