Abstract
It was the purpose of this study to determine a formula for predicting scholastic achievement from the entrance examination program used by a secondary school in screening and grouping its freshman applicants. Colleges, and particularly graduate and professional schools, have long been aware of the problem of selecting and rejecting candidates. Most of the institutions of higher learning have set up certain measuring-sticks which will tell with relative accuracy which candidates to accept and which to reject.
